2007 - now

Curb Side Casseroles began in 2007 when Bradford was asked by a friend to help her with their school’s Teacher Appreciation Week.

She needed to provide 200 teachers with a “take home meal” that could be baked and eaten when they got home from a long day of teaching. Not knowing it then, it really was the birth of her “prepared meals” business.

Our Meal

Well, the next week, Mr. McPherson called and asked for “another one of those delicious casseroles” that he enjoyed from the Teacher Appreciation Week.

When he came to pick up the last casserole Bradford still had in the freezer, he smelled some freshly baked blueberry muffins and promptly asked...”Can I buy some of those, too?” Bradford's parents were visiting from out of town that weekend and her dad said, "I think someone is trying to tell you something" - with his hand pointing up! "God has a plan for you!" She decided to hand it over to the Lord and allow Him to work through her. "I just did the leg work. The Lord provided everything!"

The next day, Bradford went to Sears and bought her first upright freezer. She remembers thinking
"How in the world am I going to pay for this thing"? Two weeks later, she began selling homemade, frozen and ready to bake casseroles out of her “make shift storefront”… her garage!

Four months later and selling 100-150 casseroles a day from the "side of her curb" (hence the name), Bradford decided it was time for the next step!

She was able to use a local church's kitchen in exchange for preparing their Wednesday night suppers. This opportunity allowed her to test recipes on the congregation and build her repertoire of delicious dishes.

Finally, in July of 2008, Bradford opened the doors to her current storefront with a handful of homemade casseroles, sides, a fresh green salad, her famous Chicken Salad and her signature Strawberry Cake! Over fifteen years later, she is still seeing amazing growth, now selling thousands of items weekly, Bradford, along with her current staff of over 20 outstanding ladies/gentlemen she also calls "friends", are working six days a week to lovingly create over 250 different dishes that are rotated in and out every week, serving our Curb Friends in Memphis every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
